
- Council reviewed several pieces of correspondence, and voted in favour of sending a letter to the Superintendent of SD78 – Fraser Cascade School District regarding hard drug prevention and anti-exploitation education programming for youth, and a letter to the City of Abbotsford in support of their resolution submitted to the Lower Mainland Local Government Association regarding infrastructure support from the Province in response to the Housing Supply Act.
- Council will be inviting MLA Tony Luck to meet and discuss opportunities and challenges within the Village.
- The Village will send a letter to the Minister of Forests to express concerns relating to the potential logging objectives of BC Timber Sales and how this may interfere with the scenescapes surrounding the Village.
- Staff will be investigating potential grant funding opportunities that support the increase of the urban tree canopy on public and private properties, as recommended by the Environmental Advisory Committee.
- Potential resident parking passes or other pay parking opportunities will be explored after the existing contract for paid parking enforcement expires at the end of 2025.
- Miscellaneous Fee Amendment Bylaw No. 1224, 2025 was given first three readings. This bylaw proposes to update various fees, such as those for photocopying, land development applications, or public property usage; several of which have not been updated in the last five years.
- Bylaw Notice Enforcement Bylaw No. 1223, 2025 was given first three readings. This bylaw proposes to update the schedule of fines for bylaw tickets and will allow for fines associated with the new Noise Bylaw, and already existing Sewer and Water Regulation Bylaws.
- Waste Collection and Disposal Amendment Bylaw No. 1222, 2025 was reconsidered and given third reading, this time as amended to require that residents place their waste at the curb no earlier than 5:00 a.m. on waste collection day.
